About Angelo

Praised for his sweet-sounding voice, agility and sensitivity in embellishing the vocal line, Italian tenor Angelo Testori has distinguished himself in several competitions. In 2022 he won the 3rd prize at the Francesco Provenzale Baroque Singing Competition. In 2023 he won the 3rd prize at the San Colombano International Competition (sacred music) and the 2nd prize at the Marco Uccellini Early Music Competition. In 2024 he was among the finalists in the International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera Pietro Antonio Cesti in Innsbruck.

Born in Bologna, he graduated in violin and in Baroque Singing at the “B. Maderna” Conservatory in Cesena and subsequently obtained the Master degree in Early Music at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität of Vienna, under the guidance of Roberta Invernizzi.

He made his debut in 2022 in the opera ‘Etearco’ by G.Bononcini at the Wiener Konzerthaus for the Resonanzen Festival.
Angelo performs regularly with ensembles such as Cremona Antiqua, Vox Luminis, Mare Nostrum, La Risonanza, Zürcher Sing-Akademie, Balthasar-Neumann Ensembles and in Festivals such as, Monteverdi Festival Cremona, Ravenna Festival Resonanzen Festival Vienna, Salzburger Festspiele.

His solo repertoire includes important pages from the operatic and sacred repertoire such as La Griselda by A. Vivaldi (Gualtiero), Etearco by G. Bononcini (Delbo), Fairy Queen by H. Purcell (Autumn), Zaide by W.A. Mozart (Gomatz), Vespro della Beata Vergine by C.Monteverdi, Rappresentatione di Anima et Corpo by E. de Cavalieri (Intelletto), Trionfo della Divina Giustizia by N. Porpora (San Giovanni), Humanità e Lucifero by A. Scarlatti (Lucifero), Johannes-Passion by J.S. Bach, Messiah by G.F. Händel, Stabat Mater by F.J. Haydn.
